As part of the MIM semester in Reutlingen, 42 students participated in a company visit to SAP. ESB Business School Professor and former employee of SAP, Prof. Dr. Petra Kneip inspired this visit and Ms. Margit Herrler, Senior Recruitment Consultant, Campus Recruiting Team at SAP arranged an informative insider day at their company headquarters in Walldorf, Germany. Prof. Dr. Manfred Estler from ESB Business Schools International Operations and Logistics Management programme and Julie Dengler, Programm Coordinator for the MIM programme in Reutlingen accompanied the group as well.
They were given several informative presentations including one by Head of HR office for the EMEA and MEE region at SAP, Ms. Yvonne Fandert on “Digital Transformation and Future Workforce”, by Senior Recruitment Consultant, Ms. Margit Herrler on “SAP – Employer of Choice”, by Consulting Director SAP Services Dr. Engelbert Quack on “Career Opportunities in Consulting” and by Sven Frick on “SAP Business Objects Cloud”.
Everyone enjoyed refreshments and snacks throughout the presentations and were treated to a very tasty finger-food lunch prepared by SAP’s gourmet kitchen chefs.
The visit ended with a guided tour through their Big Data exhibition called, Inspiration Pavilion, which is a hands-on exhibit that shares SAP’s success story from their beginning in 1972 through today and beyond. The exhibition is like a mini museum showing the milestones of Big Data and other high-tech digitalization of now and beyond that influences our daily lives without us even being aware of their whereabouts.
On behalf of the ESB’s IPBS MIM program we would like to thank SAP for the informative insight into the company and for the organization of our excursion!
