For the first time in its more than 80 years of presence in Mexico and by efforts of the Governor Rafael Moreno Valle, the Nestlé company signed with coffee producers in the State of Puebla, a Convention of agriculture to trade up to 2 thousand tons of the aromatic.
After signing as witness of honor of this historic commercial operation will benefit a thousand 300 growers in five municipalities of the Sierra Norte – Xicotepec Juárez, Puebla, Jopala, Tlacuilotepec and Tlaxco-the representative acknowledged the transnational confidence in the State.
Puebla is the fourth largest national producer of coffee, after Chiapas, Veracruz and Oaxaca. There are 54 producers of coffee cherry on an area of 50 thousand hectares of which depend on more than 46 thousand families. The annual production exceeds 100 thousand tons with an economic benefit of a thousand billion pesos. Puebla, has been an important partner of Nestle for 25 years and there is now the opportunity to widen the market with this contract.
